I'll bet you are surprised to hear that there is spanking on Mongo. Who knew? And now for our feature film, we return to the 1930's and the space opera that started them all.
Author's note: When I was a kid, I waited impatiently for Saturday to arrive because that is when I got to see another episode of Flash Gordon. I recently re-discovered the old serials that had thrilled me so in my youth, now on Netflix and other services. This story is a loving tribute to those old shows which now, of course, are laughably campy. This is not a parody, though it may, at times, veer perilously close. Rather it is intended to be an old fashioned adventure tale---tailored for TTWD readers, of course. Don't worry too much about the science facts---the original producers never did. Instead grab some popcorn, sit back and prepare to blast off for outer space.
FLASH GORDON AND THE MENACE FROM MONGO
Episode 1-The Planet of Peril
Mt Palomar Observatory....
The trio of astrophysicists carefully studied the readouts from the computer. Then they studied the photos captured from the huge Hale 200 inch Cassegrain deep space telescope. Dr Henry Gordon addressed his colleagues.
"It's coming from a planet. Astounding as this may sound, a new planet, a wanderer, has entered our solar system. And it is emitting an energy beam of an intensity that is almost incalculable."
"Dr Gordon, do you think it is this beam that has been causing these catastrophic events?" Dr. Bruner asked. The entire Earth it seemed had been beset with an unusually high number of catastrophic events---huge storms, earthquakes, volcanoes.
"I do. And as this planet draws closer, its energy beam will grow only stronger. It will come to a point where it could disable all our communications, knock planes out of the sky." Gordon paused, thinking to himself. Catastrophe all over the world and he was worried about his son, Steve "Flash" Gordon, former Navy Seal, now a test pilot for the Navy. He was overdue at China Lake. He'd been transporting a prototype aircraft from NAD Crane, but in a freakish lightening storm over Nevada, of all places, he'd gone radio silent, or so the Navy had said.
Where on earth was he....?
Flash heard the heavy tread of boots coming down the corridor, faintly at first, then louder as they drew closer. There were at least five or six of them. Then they flung open the door. The guards stood to one side and allowed the woman, who was apparently royalty, to enter. She was dressed in a gown of some filmy material. It flowed to her feet clinging to curves that outlined the shape of her willowy figure. She wore a tiara of some type and her arms and wrists were adorned with bracelets. She looked like royalty. Tall, slender, aristocratic features. Her hair was piled on top of her head.
Behind her the guards held another woman. This one was pretty and voluptuous, her dark unkempt hair falling in ringlets to her shoulders. She wore only a short thin tunic. Her shapely legs were on full display and the hardened nipples of her breasts strained against the flimsy material. She struggled but was held firmly by a pair of female matrons. There was another woman, too. Some sort of advisor he guessed. Not royalty.
"Earth man, stand up."
Gordon managed to get to his feet. He was chained against the wall.
"I am Princess Aura. This is Dr Pagea. You are to perform a task for us and we will watch."
Flash strained against the chains, glaring. "And if I refuse?"
"Your friends," she said. "They will suffer."
He knew they had Dale and Zarkoff. They'd all been taken at once and escorted to the throne room of the apparent ruler of this hostile planet. A servant had told him that he was called Ming the Merciless and that they were on the planet Mongo. They'd tried to establish that they were diplomatic emissaries from Earth, but this announcement had been received with contempt, and they had been promptly seized. Flash had tried to put up a fight but had been stunned by some sort of ray gun. The next thing he knew he was thrust into an arena and forced to fight wild ape men captured in some remote corner of Mongo...for their amusement. It was surreal, like some crazy variation on Caligula or Nero of ancient Rome, only this was Mongo, another planet.
But he found that on this planet he had exceptional strength and agility. Perhaps it was the low gravity. He had defeated the ape men by employing his Navy Seal hand-to-hand skills. Then they'd thrown him in this cell. He had not liked the way this Emperor Ming had looked at Dale. He felt naturally protective of her and feared what Ming might have in mind.
"So then. What do you want?" Flash stood there defiantly but he felt helpless. As long as they held Dale and Zarkoff, he had to do their bidding.
The Princess smiled. "Our genetic stock is weak. Mongo needs new blood. That is why we speed toward Earth, to select the strongest of the Earth people as breeding stock. We will see if you can provide it. We will test this slave, once you are finished with her. She is scheduled to be disciplined anyway, so we will see how you can handle a female of ours." The girl, upon hearing this struggled.
"See, she rebels, the little she-cat. So you will tame her as we observe. Let's see," said the princess, apparently thinking, "What will amuse us? I know. She has behaved like an obstinate child, so she should receive the punishment usually given to an obstinate child. You will strip her naked and place her across your knees. Then you will spank her buttocks soundly until I tell you to stop. After that, you will have your way with her. That should teach her a good lesson and render her suitable for our tests."
The slave girl tossed her head and glared at Flash. She looked him in the eye then spit, as if daring him to touch her. Flash grimaced.
Princess Aura smiled a thin smile. "She does not appeal to you, earth man?" Then the smile hardened. "Unchain him. You will do this, earth man. Remember, we have your friends."
Flash massaged his wrists as they unlocked his manacles. The slave girl eyed him warily. He had no choice. He reached for the girl as the guards shoved her toward him and then stepped away.
Two days earlier...
It was to be a routine flight, just transport the new prototype VERTOL plane from Indiana to China Lake, but Flash was fighting horrendous lightening and buffeting winds. His map data indicated a remote airstrip in southern Nevada. It took all his skill as a pilot but he managed to get the plane on the ground. It was weird. The storm stopped as suddenly as it had begun. He looked around from the cockpit. He was in a facility of some sort. There were low buildings and a tall structure that looked like a silo. And walking purposefully toward his plane was the most gorgeous golden-haired creature he had ever seen. She wore a trim, tight skirt that emphasized both her long legs and her shapely hips. High set breasts strained against a thin white silk blouse. Flash was impressed. He climbed down to the tarmac.
"This is Dr Hans Zarkoff's research facility. I am Dale Arden, his assistant," she said. "I'll take you to Dr Zarkoff. Follow me." He let her lead the way. The view from the rear was even more spectacular. Flash whistled to himself.
"My name is Hans Zarkoff," the bearded man said. Flash had been escorted by the blonde super model to what turned out to be an aerospace laboratory stuck in the middle of the desert. Zarkoff told an amazing tale.
"These fierce storms, earthquakes and volcanoes are the result of an energy ray beamed at the earth from a planet which has entered our solar system. Unless it is stopped, this ray will cripple the earth. Millions will die."
Flash wanted to know who or what was on this planet and how he proposed to stop it.
"I believe there is intelligent life there. And I also believe they have been to Earth before, millennia ago. Humans may even be descendants of these beings. Perhaps they can be reasoned with."
Flash offered, "We could call my father. He is Dr Henry Gordon, the astrophysicist. He might have a way to contact them."
"The famous Dr Gordon?" Zarkoff shook his head. "I know of your father. A great scientist. But there is no time. We must leave right away."
"Leave right away? For where?"
"Why, for the planet, of course," said Zarkoff.
It turned out that in the large silo Zarkoff had a ship that he had built himself. Flash came to understand that Zarkoff was an eccentric billionaire, but also a brilliant scientist. He was able to convince Flash that it really could navigate to the new planet. Zarkoff spent a day in final prep and in going over the controls with Flash. Then he, Dale Arden, and Zarkoff had taken off for the planet in the hope of disabling the menace that threatened Earth.
It was fortuitous that they had Flash. The ship navigated through hyperspace from coordinate to coordinate. No flying was involved. The coordinates were set and the ship's computer did the rest while the trio were held safely in quantum stasis chambers. But when they arrived in planetary orbit, it became necessary to fly it. It was a different craft, but Flash brought them in safely in a desert region near what appeared to be a large city. It finally came home to them-there was indeed intelligent life here.
And the life was human, or at least appeared to be. And, unfortunately, hostile. They were apprehended and taken prisoner, as if they were trespassers, not peaceful emissaries from Earth. They had been taken to the ruler, the one called Ming the Merciless. It was there that they had learned the awful truth---it was Ming who was set on conquering the Earth and establishing himself as supreme ruler, even if he had to kill millions in the process. Unless flash, Dale and Zarkoff could stop him....the Earth was doomed.
Episode 2---Discipline of a Slave Girl
Flash reached for the slave girl and caught her wrist. She tugged back, but her strength was no match for his. He pulled her to him and whispered to her. "I don't want to do this, but I have no choice. Cooperate and I'll go as easy as I can." Her response was to hiss and struggle. Ok, thought Flash, if that's the way you want it. He grabbed her and the flimsy tunic fell right off. She seemed shocked to be stark naked and stood as if dazed. Flash pulled her over to a low bench and sat on it. He flung the girl face down across his knees. She tried to wriggle away, but Flash caught her hand and pinned it in the small of her back. The girl's pale bottom cheeks quivered as she kicked and struggled. She was perfectly shaped with a firm, rounded bottom nicely set off from the tops of her thighs. The full fleshy cheeks jutted upwards as the girl was held face down, jackknifed across his knees. Flash raised his hand and delivered a crisp smack to the wriggling backside. The girl flung her head back and shrieked. He smacked her again, this time on the opposite globe and she wailed. Flash looked up at the Princess and paused.
"Well, Earth man, proceed. We will tell you when to stop."
There was no help for it. Flash applied a stinging barrage of spanks to the succulent behind of the slave girl. She writhed and kicked but he held her down easily. His hand rose and fell, rose and fell. For the next few minutes the cell resounded with the sharp smacking sound of Flash's palm on the unfortunate slave girl's bottom. Her hind cheeks took on a distinctly bright red hue. Her cries rose to shrill yelps as he continued to spank her vigorously. She wriggled, humping up and down, pressing her pelvis into his knee. Then her cries became dull moans. For a time Flash was sure that she was actually trying to pleasure herself, lifting her bottom in time to the descending spanks then grinding herself on his knee...it was most curious.
"Stop!" The princess commanded. "It is enough." She smiled and turned to leave. "I understand your need for privacy, but be assured that we are watching. Now do as I commanded." And she and her entourage left, slamming the cell door.
The slave girl slid to her knees. Her eyes were heavy with lust. She pulled out his manhood, stiff and engorged as a result the lusty spanking he'd administered to her jouncy behind, a behind which had wriggled so sexily. She pleasured him with her mouth until he was hard, and then turned, placing herself on all fours and thrusting her well spanked behind toward him. She looked over her shoulder expectantly. Flash did not have to be told what to do. He mounted her and rode her to climax. Once her passion had been unleashed she turned out to be insatiable and demanded that he take her, over and over, until both were exhausted.
They came and got her shortly thereafter.
Then there was silence until the sound of heavy boots again signaled that someone approached. They flung the door open and four guards with evil looking blasters pointed right at him surged into the room.
"You are summoned before Emperor Ming. You are to be judged, Earth man. Prepare yourself for a slow and painful death."
Episode 3---In Ming's Throne Room
Dale and Zarkoff were there, flanked by guards. Ming sat on a throne which was raised up on a dais. Behind him was a bizarre statue of what Flash guessed was some ancient God of theirs. Some sort of ceremony was in progress. Semi-naked dancers writhed in front of the god while flutes and drums played and incense rose from braziers. The soldiers wore a type of body armor and carried ray guns or blasters. But they also had swords. It was most odd. Ming was tall, his features vaguely oriental. He had a thin mustache and a goatee like some Mongol chieftain from the steppes of Asia. He wore a skullcap and a high collared robe.
Ming held up a hand and spoke. "Stop." The music and the dancing stopped. "Bring the Earthmen forward." Flash was shoved to the base of the dais along with Zarkoff and Dale.
"Dale, are you all right? Have they done anything to you?"
"No. I'm fine," said Dale. "But I'm frightened." Flash patted her hand, relieved that what he had feared had not yet happened.
"Flash, what can we do? We've got to escape!" Zarkoff was frantic.
Flash whispered, "We'll think of something." But he had no idea how they were going to get out of this.
"Silence!" roared Ming. "I have decided your fate. You, Zarkoff, are a brilliant scientist. You will work in my laboratory preparing my machines for the conquest of Earth." He pointed at Dale. "The earth woman is comely. She will become my bride and will provide me with strong sons. She will be the first of many to be used to breed a new generation on Mongo. Our failing bloodline will be revived. Bring her to me."
The guards gripped Dale's arms and brought her to Ming. He rose and walked around her, inspecting her body approvingly. She stood still, but when he tried to run his hands over her body she whirled and slapped him full in the face. All in the throne room gasped that the earth woman had dared slap the royal personage. At the same time Flash struggled against his captors and shouted, "Leave her alone, Ming."
Ming recovered his composure. "You see?" He said. "The Earth woman has fire. Yes, she will be my bride." He pointed a finger at her. "You will be punished for that disrespect, Earth woman...later. Finally, the Earth man Gordon is too dangerous and he will be executed...."
"Father-No!" The shout came from an entryway adjacent to the throne room. A courtier announced, "The Princess Aura." Flash turned to see. A woman with dark flowing hair dressed in fine silks strode into the room. Flash had expected to see the slender woman who had announced herself as Princess Aura in his cell. Instead who he saw was...the slave girl. Flash rocked back on his heels, stunned. There was no doubt about it, it was the slave girl he'd been "commanded" to punish and take sexually.
Aura gazed intently, almost adoringly, at Flash; then she turned to her father. "I want him. You won't have him killed. But," she smirked, "the Earth woman has dared to touch you, father. She should be punished in front of all to teach her...respect. She should be stripped naked and whipped before the great god Xliatu. Yes. Give me the word and I will send for my torturer..."
Ming held up his hand. "Enough, daughter. I will have her punished, but not now. Call my Grand Vizier. We must plan the nuptials. But Gordon must die."
Aura gasped. She had fallen in love with the handsome blonde Earth man the moment she had laid eyes on him. She had to have him, and her lust had been so intense that she had concocted that little scheme---her playing at being a slave girl. And the man had performed magnificently. The spanking had aroused her to a fever pitch, and their vigorous coupling had made her scream with pleasure. She would not be denied this magnificent specimen.
With a hand gesture Ming demanded, "Open the pit."
A section of the floor opened up. Everyone moved back. Flash looked down. There was a gate in the side of the pit. Behind the bars there was something, moving around and snarling.
"Throw the earth man into the pit." Ming gestured and guards seized Flash. He was dragged and then dumped roughly into the pit. He managed to land without breaking anything, but to his horror the gate was raised, freeing the thing inside. It was vaguely simian in appearance, but it had a single horn on its forehead and a mouth with tusks like a boar. And it was ten feet tall. Without a weapon, Flash had no chance.
To be continued.....
